Financial Services Authority (FSA)
The FSA is the independent watchdog set up by the government to protect the public and regulate financial services. Its website offers many downloadable factsheets and a wealth of advice on all types of mortgage.
Set up as an independent body to settle disputes between consumers and financial organisations, the ombudsman offers advice on complaints procedures (you should initially contact the firm in writing) and adjudicates if the complaint is taken further.

The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators provides this scheme to resolve disputes between residential borrowers and registered members of the Mortgage Code if the member is perceived to have breached the Code.
